Please follow our artwork preparation guidelines to ensure that your artwork file is set up correctly.

  • 1. Add 3 mm of bleed

During the production of paper products, cutting imperfections are to be expected - cutting can be off by a couple of millimeters from the cutting line. To allow leeway for such imperfections, you should add 3 mm of bleed on all edges of your artwork. Make sure that all colors, background pictures, and elements extend to the edge of the bleed area, to avoid the appearance of while borders on certain edges after cutting. Learn more how to set up the bleed here.

  • 2. Keep your content within a 3 mm safety margin

To ensure that no important elements (text, graphics, images) get cut off from your paper product, make sure to keep such elements at least 3 mm away from the edge of your finished product dimensions.Click here to know how to set up 3 mm safety margin.

  • 3. Use CMYK color mode

Except for silkscreen and pad printing, files should be prepared in CMYK color mode. Keep in mind that if the setup is wrong, colors on the finished product may differ from the file you sent. Here is how to set your artwork to CMYK color mode in Adobe Illustrator.

  • 4. Use an image resolution of at least 300 DPI

To avoid blurriness, use only images and graphics that have a resolution of 300 DPI or more. Before sending your files, make sure to embed your images into the file. Read more about how to check the resolution of your assets.

  • 5. Use the right values for gray elements

When setting up grey elements, set K to a percentage between 0 and 100, and keep all other colors (C, M, and Y) equal to 0%.

  • 6. Use the right values for black elements

When setting up black text, thin lines and small elements, use pure black, i.e. C = 0, M = 0, Y = 0, K = 100). Text, thin lines, and small elements in pure black color should be set to overprint to avoid white gaps around the text. For larger elements, use a composite form of black (we recommend C = 30, M = 0, Y = 0, K = 100).

  • 7. Use maximum 2 colors for lines that are finer than 2 pt

If lines are 2 pt thick or less, use only 1 or 2 colors. 4 colors may be used for thicker lines.

  • 8. Convert all fonts to outlines, or embed them in your file

To avoid issues with fonts when submitting your file(s), make sure to convert fonts to outlines, or to embed all fonts when saving to PDF.

  • 9. Save and upload your artwork files as PDF/X-1a

The best format for submitting print-ready files is PDF, under the PDF/X-1a standard. Where possible, submit your files in PDF format. See why PDF/X-1a is the right format for printing.

  • 10. Check for overprint

Make sure that no elements are set on overprint, unless you need them to be.

        • Glossy Lamination:

This is crucial for coupons, which will be kept in bags, purses, pockets, and around the house. Choosing Lamination adds elegance and quality to your products, emphasizing your own standards. Glossy Lamination reflects light, and will give colors more pop and vibrance.

        Why Print Coupons Online?

There are plenty of reasons and ways to distribute coupons to customers. They can be given to both existing and potential customers, and can take on the form of a lump sum discount or a percentage discount on the customer's next/first purchase. In general, lump sum discounts are useful to increase the number of orders, while percentage discounts tend to also inflate the average value of orders. Coupons can be very powerful tools for customer acquisition and retention.

Clearly, if you're in the business of selling products in a store, there is a strong business case for using coupons. With Gogoprint, you can print coupons in a fast and convenient way.

The first classic case to print coupons is to attract and convert new customers. People sometimes need a little push to try out your store, bar, or try out your products. Since they do not know your service, they might be hesitant to trust you and give your products a try. That's why giving them a financial incentive in the form of a discount works very well. You can distribute coupons to anyone who enters your store, or through a network of partner stores that help you direct people to yours.

Another case to print coupons is to reward your existing customers. This is commonly done by many stores. The idea is that you want to show appreciation and thank your loyal customers by offering them discounts on your products after a certain threshold of loyalty points, purchases, or other. Doing this humanizes your company, and strenghtens the relationship that you have with your customers. On top of that, it gives existing customers an additional reason to keep coming back to your store frequently. As such, properly designed coupon campaigns increase customer retention and repurchase rates. Such coupons are usually handed out at the cash register after payment, or sent by mail on special occasions.

Finally, coupons are a good way to help you get rid of some unwanted stock. When companies find that a product does not sell as well as expected, they always reduce its price, and provide complementary discounts on it. Indeed, it is customary to create coupons that provide a discount amount for a specific product only.

As a rule of thumb, coupons contain a set of conditions that are aimed at pushing customers to make use of them in the near future. To ensure that people who receive your coupons use it fast, you should include an expiry date that is not too far away. To ensure that you don’t end up losing money on your campaign, you should also include a minimum order amount. Moreover, many stores add conditions that restrict the combination of different coupons. In the end, it is up to you to decide on which conditions you want to apply on your coupons.

As you might have understood by now, printing coupons is a powerful marketing tool, and it definitely deserves your attention if you own a business or work in the marketing and sales department of one. Print your coupons online with Gogoprint to ensure that your customer retention and repurchase rates remain high, while attracting many new customers. High quality is crucial when you print coupons, because they reflect the quality and trustworthiness of your business. Luckily for you, Gogoprint relies only on the highest quality printing equipment, to ensure reliable, qualitative, and low-cost printing. Gogoprint offers the choice between various kinds of paper and refinement to ensure that you can strike the right balance between price and the image that you want to confer.
